Lap25 Week 15

Week fifteen and we are in the Cape Range National Park, camped in bay 12 of Kurrajong Camp Ground for ten days..

The morning of Monday 8th September has the second Blood Moon for the year. I was able to take some 380 images of the whole sequence, from as the partial eclipse begins through the total eclipse to after the partial eclipse ends.

Lucky enough to shoot from the back of the van. the sequence went for approximately four hours. When the eclipse started to decline the birds started singing as it went from dark to light, thinking it was dawn.
This place was incredible. When Steve and I arrived we had to climb a steep sand dune to get to the pristine beautiful ocean and before us was a line of huge Turtles swimming right at the shore break. Some were mating in the water as we cheekily watched. It was truly amazing and a real privilege to be there.

Operation water bladder. Running out of water so we had to make a trip to Exmouth to replenish our supplies.

Yardie Creek Crossing. Watching the cars and boats cross. Some successfully. Some getting bogged.

We did a boat tour with “Ash” who was. very insightful and passed on a lot of knowledge about the Black flanked Wallabies, the Bird life and activity, the mangroves, bats, fish and geology of the area. He also was the instigator of the Osprey nest next to the boat ramp.
Lots of Black flanked Rock Wallabies Living here. So cute.

We did a boat trip along Yardie creek. The guy was an encyclopaedia on the area and was able to locate much bird and Wallaby wild life for us to see along the creek.

Osprey Nest next to the boat ramp. Incredible watching the mum feeding her baby right at our level. Could have stood there all day.

Oyster Stacks on display. Sadly the coral is mostly grey (dead) but still an abundance of fish life.

Back to Yardie creek just after sun rise to meander along the trail and gorge walk. Is is beautiful.
Steve managed to capture photo of the Mother Osprey returning to nest with a stick to maintain her nest.

Wild flowers galore. Mostly yellow and purple. Trail fruit bushes.
I am always looking in the binoculars. Boy what I have seen through these.
Mother and baby rock wallabies happy for us to watch them cleaning each other.
Sandra and John our neighbours at the camp ground. John kindly let me have a go of his paddle board. Of course I want one now.
Steve off with his camera again this time at our camp site at Kurrajong. Today truly superb weather. Magnificent display from a huge whale whilst sitting on the beach too. Lots of breaching and tail slapping.
