Lap 25 Week 17

Karijini Eco Retreat for six nights to gorge ourselves on gorgeous Gorges, then southward bound.
Start of beautiful hike to kermit’s pool in Hancocks Gorge
Shoe change from hikers to rock pool shoes.
A few seconds after this photo I slipped on a rock and went straight onto my left shoulder. I knew straight away I had dislocated it and there was no way I could negotiate the track back up with one arm, pain and nausea. Some other hikers went up to phone access area and called the ranger who assessed me and immediately called in the State emergency services to rescue me. Seven hours later I was sitting up in Tom price hospital with a relocated shoulder thanks to terrific Doctor and Nurse. The volunteer hikers who assisted, Michael the ranger, Saints John’s ambulance and Paramedics and The SES team directing the rescue were incredible. I will be forever grateful for their expertise and compassion. Below are some dramatic photos Steve took to remind me to wait for him next time, as I may have chosen the safer rock shelf on the right with his insight.
